Edward B NewberryEdward B. Newberry was born in Dillon, South Carolina on October 5, 1946 to Rev. Earl Edward Newberry and Mrs. Inez Platt Newberry. In 1958 the Newberry’s moved to Charlotte in order for Reverend Earl Newberry to serve as pastor of the South Tryon Presbyterian Church. Edward graduated from West Charlotte High School, Charlotte, North Carolina in 1964.

Beverly,.Church Secrerary, is a native of Charlotte. She attended Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools, graduating from Myers Park High School.

She attended JCSU where she earned a Bachelor Degree in Sociology. Then attended Charlotte Mecklenburg Urban League where she later taught and tutored a computer office systems training course. From there, Beverly took a course at Central Piedmont Community College where she was commissioned as a North Carolina Notary.

Julia Gassaway. Director of Christian Education, is a product of Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools having graduated from J. H. Gunn High School June 1959. She received her Undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from Johnson C. Smith University. She did graduate work at UNCC receiving two Master Degrees (One in Early Childhood Education and one in Elementary School Administration).

Jocelyn P ThompsonJocelyn P. Thompson, Minister of Music, is the Chorus Teacher at South Charlotte Middle School in Charlotte. Previously, she was Performing Arts Chairperson at Mallard Creek High School, Music Teacher at Garinger High School, and Fine Arts Chairperson at West Charlotte High School, where her choirs have performed extensively up and down the east coast, including two appearances at Carnegie Hall, one at Riverside Church in New York City, and at The Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.
